Science built around inflammation, insulin resistance and cellular energy

BioVie is investigating whether modulating inflammation and insulin resistance can influence disease processes across neurology and whether a continuous terlipressin formulation can address fluid accumulation in advanced liver disease.

A connected biological hypothesis

Chronic inflammation, altered insulin signaling and impaired cellular energy are interrelated processes implicated in multiple diseases of aging. BioVie’s research asks whether carefully modulating these pathways can translate into meaningful clinical outcomes.

This remains a research hypothesis. Clinical trials are required to determine whether BioVie’s investigational candidates are safe and effective.

Bezisterim

Neuroscience

Bezisterim (NE3107) is an orally administered, blood-brain-barrier-permeable small molecule being studied in Parkinson’s disease and Long COVID, with prior clinical research in Alzheimer’s disease.

Preclinical and clinical research has examined ERK and NF-κB signaling, inflammatory mediators including TNF-α, insulin sensitivity, cognition, movement and biological-age-associated epigenetic markers.

BIV201

Hepatology

BIV201 is an investigational continuous-infusion formulation of terlipressin designed for use with a portable pump. It is being developed for refractory ascites associated with liver cirrhosis.

The research rationale centers on vascular tone, portal pressure, renal and hepatic blood flow, and the physiological systems involved in fluid accumulation.

Evidence standards

BioVie communicates study design, development stage and source material alongside scientific hypotheses. Conference posters and company analyses can inform future research, but they do not replace confirmatory, adequately controlled studies or regulatory review.

Evidence and compliance note

Development-stage information can change. Investigational candidates are not approved, and safety and efficacy have not been established. Review source documents and current regulatory disclosures.
